Considerations in mind? ~ The Billings Project.

Words are indeed a specialized form of communication.

For describing tangible items there is no problem.

Words attach the label of definition.

For example, Describing how a motor car works would be different for everyone.

The object is linear and tangible.

Viewed through the eyes of the writer.

Describing the relevant influences affecting the design of

the proposed Billings project

is somewhat more of a difficulty.

The influences are neither linear or tangible.

It could be said that the project has taken over 30 years to mature and develop.

I first came across computers in the late 1970’s and have held what could be called ‘Geek’ empathies ever since.

I was first introduced to the idea of computers networking via the telephone line in 1980 while I was studying at University.

I recognized the Communication and Educational potential

that the internet may one day provide.

Over the years I have been a teacher in three different continents around the world.

I feel that I share a knowledge and first hand experience of life with people from many different backgrounds.

I have been a T’ai chi Instructor for over 12 years. This has given me the opportunity to specialize my life study in Health, Education and Life benefit.

I have been an active member of a local choir for over six years.

In 1982 I was involved in a serious accident.

I was riding a bicycle.

A car hit me from behind.

The driver hadn’t seen me.

I was alone, near Blois in Central France.

Two weeks later I woke in a hospital bed in Birmingham.

I had lost my memory,

incurred brain damage

and viewed life in a slightly different way.

This is where words are truly a deficient form of communication.

It is not empathy that I am seeking,

just the view that there are numerous contributing influences

that inspire the germ of an activity or focus.

The computer as a singing aid.

Turning a computer into an Educational tool for helping me learn how to sing,

how to enjoy and persist with singing practice,

has been with me for almost 20 years.

Programming the computer has never been a problem.

Perseverance, I think, is the key.

Having recently bought a second hand 486-computer ~with sound card for £25.

I now have the necessary hardware to fulfil this goal.

I have always wanted to learn how to sing.

I came to meet this ambition to some extent with the help of my computer skills.

In the late 1970’s the Government commissioned a report on Education which became known as the Cockcroft report.

MATHEMATICS COUNTS was the title of the publication.

I was taken by the view that Education was linked to Investigation.

The idea of promoting Investigation to encourage Education made me aware of the root meaning of the word.

{Does the Latin root mean ~ to lead forth?}

The very nature of an Investigation could be perceived as an Educational task.

To publish music on the internet in the way I intend fulfils a number of considerations.

My wish is that the web site will be User friendly and fun to interact with.

I hope it will encourage musicians and interested parties around the world

to form a communication network,

enabling further projects of a similar style to be engaged with and enjoyed.

One of the more important influences in the design of the Billings project, as a long term view, is the possibility of making a profit from the activity.

This will only happen if the resulting web site becomes successful.

Should this happen my task related resolution is to use some of the profits to help finance other projects that I have currently in mind.
